For cable TV, I have the cable going into a surge protector and then to a DVD or VCR, then to the TV.

Now that I am adding a cable modem, I realize that I had better replace the surge protector with a UPS to protect the cable modem.

But which UPS to get?
Likely does not need much voltage protection, but does need the cable connectors.

You could just get a high quality surge protector like the APC P11VT3 that has coax jacks.

I already have that, but does not properly protect the modem.

Bingo!
I think!

The APC 650G I purchased last year has a free cable in and cable out, so expect that all I need to do:

1. Use a splitterwhere the cable comes into the room.

2. One line would go to the surge protector, then VCR, then TV, as is currently wired.

3. The other line would go from the splitter to the APC 650G, using the Comcast supplied cable. THen to the cable modem.
I believe that the modem comes witha cable, if not, I'll get one.

4. I expect that the AC cord on the cable modem would reach the APC 650G.

If the above is kerect, then I'm all set.

It's worth a try to see if it will work.
The only option I saw was something like this APC H10

H10 is not a UPS.
