Hi all,

I presently am using 2 EVGA 8800GTX's in SLI with a AMD FX-60 Dual at 2.6 GHz with 4 MB memory, 1 KW PS and Asus A8N32-SLI mobo.
If I update to the 295 in SLI or even 280 in SLI, will I see a measurable improvement in my frame rates, given the processor' age.
In other words will my dual core 2.6 CPU bottleneck the faster rendering power of these new 280 and 295 GPU's?
Would I get more FPS out of upgrading my video setup to 295 SLI or 280 SLI, or would I get more FPS by upgrading my CPU and mobo and keeping my 8800GTX SLI setup?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
W

295 SLI??? Isn't the 295 thwo 280chips on one card? That in SLI would be major overkill seeing as a single 295 out performs the 4870x2.

it would probably be a cheaper option to improve the CPU although this wont give you as bigger increase as improving the cards.

One 295 on its own will give you a measurable improvement in FPS even with that processor.

Hi. Thanks for the responses....
I'm running 1920 x 1200, I use max settings on all my games of choice.
BTW, I'm running a dual-boot system with XP Pro and Vista, both 32-bit.
