i'm not a gamer. i want to do fairly standard hi-def home video editing. will the ati radeon hd4850 or hd4670 be good enough? would one be significantly better than the other?

If gaming isnt your Forte' then i would stay away from the directx cards and go for something that uses the opengL code. In most cases, video editing software uses this code much more than the directX and the card i would recommend if your an ATI fan would be anything in the ATI FireGL line with a minimum of 256gb of memory onboard.
