I have an ATI X1900 that i'm trying to build for a friend. I also have a Ultra Xconnect 500W PSU. It should be sufficent to run the system and the video card. My question is can the card run with out the PCIE power connector. I cant find my molex to 6-pin connector anywhere.....
if you can help its more then welcome

No, the 1900 draws around 110 watts, and the pci slot only supplies 75 watts by itself, and the difference would cause alot of problems. Youll need to use a molex, if your psu has another connector

I agree: don't even think about installing it without the additional power. Will crash and probably damage the card.

i installed a 3870 without a 6 pin connector, just a blank screen. The card wont work without the 6 pin

No.You must have the PCI-E power connector for the card to work properly.Ask at your local comp store and see if they have any extra ones lying about,or ask your friends.Goodluck.
