Hey guys, I'd appreciate your help on this:

Is OCZ 4GB PC2-8500C5 1066MHZ DUAL CHANNEL PLATINUM SERIES DDR2 RAM going to work well with an INTEL CORE 2 QUAD Q9300 LGA775 YORKFIELD 2.50GHZ 6MB-chase (1333FSB) Processor?

Thanks a lot, and if not, do you have any recommendations?

(The MOBO is an nForce 780 SLI DDR2 PCI-E SOCKET 775 if it helps).

As long as the cpu and ram bus speeds are the same, no real issues. Now motherboard and ram pairing is where the problems can arise. Best answer is look for supported ram on the motherboards website, that means they tested it. Next best, read the newegg reviews for your mobo and see what people are saying about the ram they put in and used. Don't just take our word for it, educate yourself.

Unless its the same price, don't bother springing for the DDR2-1066 ram on an Intel system. Lock the FSB and RAM to a 1:1 ratio and bump the FSB up to 400MHz. (adjust CPU multiplier as needed.) This will give you DDR2-800 for the ram speed, and a nice overclock as well.

I hate to brake it to you, but there is no other option. The PHII 940 is only as fast as the older Intel 9xxx Quads. (even that statement is debatable.) Both the PhII and the 9xxx quads pale in comparison to the i7. If you need lots of CPU power, the i7 is as good as it gets.
