  1. Even though it's less space than the OCZ drive, the Intel drive would be the better choice, IMO.
  2. Looking at performace, probably the Vortex-2
Here is a link for the C300, But it also shows the Vortex2 and the Intel G2. The link points to Pc Vantage, but you can scan thru other benchmarks and read the summary.

  3. Save some money, and get a smaller SSD for OS and Programs only. Get a second, large, fast HDD for data/media/backups.

60GB shold be fine for OS and Programs.

So, Vertex 2 60GB or Intel X25-M 80GB. The Vertex 2 actually beat Intels specs, due to the new SandForce controllers. So go by price/GB.

Get a 1TB Seagate 7200.12 or Samsung SpinPoint F3 for the HDD.

If you buy today, you will suffer buyer's remorse in the fall when the new gen3 SSD drives arrive.
Using a smaller NAND manufacturing technology, they will be bigger, cheaper, and faster.

I would get the INTEL SSD today for a couple of reasons.
    1) It is a cheaper investment today.
    2) It's performance is about the same as the vertex and relatively consistent for all type of work.
    3) At resale time, I think you will get more back for the Intel brand.
  5. They'll be bigger and faster but I doubt they'll be cheaper.

The SSD marketplace has so far been very competitive, and prices have already dropped.

With the smaller 22nm nand chips, the manufacturing cost will be lower per gb, so there will be more room to compere and still make a profit.
