I went to switch the power on, for the first time, and I get nothing on the screen :( Here's what I get...

- All 4 fans (CPU, GPU, PSU, Case) are spinning fine

- Power is getting to the monitor as the light to signal it's on, is on

- Some kind of signal is getting to the monitor, because when I pull the monitor cable out from the back, it says Check Signal on the monitor

- LEDs on graphics card and motherboard light up, so power is getting to them (I did plug the PCI power 2x6pin from the PSU to the graphics card)

...but nothing on the screen...

what to do?? feel a bit lost

what's the 4/8-pin CPU power connector?? do you mean the cpu cooler fan connector? not sure what you mean...maybe it could be this

no change with one stick on RAM

The CPU power connector is a plug on the motherboard near the CPU that provides power to the CPU. You plug in a cable from the power supply to the CPU power connector just like the main 24-pin motherboard power connector. The system will not work unless the CPU power connector is plugged in. What motherboard do you have? Here's a link to a picture of a motherboard:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?CurImage=13-128-358-S03&ISList=13-128-358-S01%2c13-128-358-S02%2c13-128-358-S03%2c13-128-358-S04%2c13-128-358-S05&S7ImageFlag=1&Item=N82E16813128358&Depa=0&WaterMark=1&Description=GIGABYTE%20GA-EP45-UD3P%20ATX%20Intel%20Motherboard%20-%20Retail

Just look at the picture looking directly down on the motherboard and you will see the CPU power connector located to the lower-left of the CPU socket. In this case it's an 8-pin plug. Your motherboard may only have a 4-pin plug. Your motherboard owners manual spells it out for you.

The 4 or 8 pin cable is a secondary power line to motherboard. i have noticed one thing you might want to try .... connect your DVi monitor to the first hedder, from your pic it looks like its in the second one .... i am prob wrong but worth a try
