is anyone successfully running either of these programs
i would dearly like to get one of them to work and will happily pay
for it
first DVD2PPC
i installed the software on my pc - around 3 times in fact
i put the DVD in the machine, select the DVD and - NOTHING
then comes the usual "program not responding"
I have been thru the FAQ's, found this seems to be quite a comon
problem
one theory is not enough memory - i got plenty
another is to open options and reset all - thats always greyed out
another is to open options and special then "run step 2"
that tells me it cant find a dvd or some such message
these are answers from the software people

i then gave up on that and tried pocket dvd studio
downloaded software and also the player and loaded in on to the PPC
demo seems to work , downloads a small movie, i put it on my cf card
and stick it in the machine
i open the player, click open/file/cf card, tap the avi file
and the POOF - player dissapears and shuts down
can someone please please help me with getting either of these 2 progs
to work
i dont care which one although i guess DVD2PPC may be better and i
dont need to install another player on the ppc
oh BTW when i try to install the player on the PPC to run Pocket DVD
studio the install.exe file never works, i always have to copy the cab
file over to the PPC and run it from there, could that be my problem
thanks in advance guys, i really want to get one of these 2 progs to
work
stan

mate, I replied to the other post here.

One question, forgive my ignorance, what type of card is a cf card?

I use a generic 256 SD card which works fine!
USB2.0 cradle, bluetooth, WiFi, IR provide all the connectivity that I need!
:)

You may want to check out card compatability issues if you have not already,
I have had problems in this area in the past, (Toshiba laptop only accepts
Panasonic SD cards :( in my case) although its not as bad as finding storage
media that works!
I have a pile half a metre high!@!#$@@!@!

Good Luck Mate!

Dude : CF is a slighlty older format than SD called 'Compact Flash' or
usually, 'CF'. Its quite a bit larger in physical size, but it very
common and gets used in many digital cameras.

Capacaties avaiilable are still about the same as SD but I anticipate
SD cards to reach 2-4 Gig quite soon. I'm not so sure there's as much
development on CF cards to reach these capacaties, although you can
mostly use a CF format hard drive instead (but it draws more power
than a solid state memory card)

Cheers - Neil

thanks for the reply, i didnt see your other reply, i must have missed
it
a cf card is a compact flash card
its a little bigger than the sd cards but quite a bit cheaper, thats
why i bought it
my HP2210 accepts both sd and cf cards and both work ok
i'm gonna have another go this weekend to get either of them working
thanks
