Media sharing . . . yeah that's it. Users with a Slingbox or other digital media console will see the benefits. You can connect a network storage device (read USB hard drive) and share high def media files like those from ZML.com. Otherwise, you're correct. Gigabit doesn't help especially when you need a minimum Cat5e to take advantage of the bandwith.
