Phenom 9650 @ 1.15GHz?

I recently install a AMD Phenom x4 9650 and a new asus m4n72-e mobo and for some reason when i open CPU-Z my core speed reads 1150MHz ,Multiplier x5.75, bus 200mhz, ht link 1800.

Is this normal? Although Windows Vista does say it is running at 2.3GHz

That's just cool and quiet kicking in. The CPU underclocks itself when it's not in use.

Interesting, my 9850 is 1.250Ghz when idle, would of thought all the Phenoms had the same idle clock with cool n quiet.

In any case, run prime95 or something else that will stress your cpu, you'll see it jump to 2.3Ghz in no time.

That's the odd thing about the original Phenoms, the multiplier is simply cut in half when idle. My 7750 runs at 1.35Ghz when not in use.
