plz friends if any one know that"it is necessary to change motherboard, ram, hard drive when changing processor from core 2 duo to i5?

Solution
If you change from a C2D CPU to an i5 then you must change the motherboard as the CPU sockets are different (LGA775 - LGA1156 / 1155), you will also need to replace the RAM as the old C2D's use DDR2 and the i5's use DDR3 which are not compatible

Since you are moving to a different plataform, yes. Core 2 duo were for LGA 775, now you will have to look into the LGA 1155 motherboards, DDR3 ram, the hard drive will be ok if it has SATA interface.
