Will 1600 mhz ram work with an intel i7 920 (ASUS P6T motherboard)

My soon to be motherboard:

Asus P6T SE Intel X58 Chipset CrossFire Supported w/7.1 Sound, Triple-Channel DDR3, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, Triple PCI-E )

Processor type: Intel i7 920 (to be overclocked to 3.8 ghz)

Was wondering if 6 gb of 1600 mhz ram would work with this motherboard

I noticed it says on the i7 wikipedia:

The memory controller is

3x DDR3-800/1066

Does this mean i can only have 800 mhz or 1066 mhz ram??

I apologize if this is a dumb question.

Its a free upgrade to 1600 m hz from 1333.
