Hey ever since ive had my E8500 always idled at 35C on every program. Got a True-120 and bios went from I think 35C to around 24C.

Checked Evertest ultimate edtion and CPU says 17C but core one says 35C and core 2 says 35C

Is my real temp 17C? If so 17C idling on air is pretty good?

Im just unsure about overclocking as I dont know what my real temperature is. Plus real temps show me sensors as 0 stuck. (But do show movement under full load.)

Personally, I trust speedfan. BIOS temps are usually the one that is off. However, even if you are idling at 35c, that is still pretty good. You are well within desired temps. I have the E8500 on the stock cooler, and I have it OC'd to 3.8Ghz. If you get closer to 60C idle and 70ish at peak, you should back off a bit.

Yup checked it cpu was 16.5C and went to 17C mother board IIRC was around 22-24. House temperature is 13C.

MY question is how come realtemp coretemp and everest show 35C (never never ever seen it drop 35C) But for everest it shows the CPU at 17C core 1 at 35C and core 2 at 35C May it be the sensors just cant be read any lower then 35C how ever the bios and everest can?

17C on a TRUE-120 can I overclock this to the max? 5.0ghz?
