I just put together my first custom rig and I chose GIGABYTES 790GP for my mobo. What are some of the things that are neccessary or recommended that I set/change in the BIOS. Ram timings etc? This is my first build ever and I dont have that much experience working in the BIOS in general.

To help, we'll need a list: CPU, RAM count & model number, PSU, that kind of stuff...

In the meantime, the very first thing to do is plug in the PSU cables, put in your video card, put one stick of RAM in the first slot, boot it up, do a <DEL> at the BIOS prompt, write down your bios version, and execute a "Load Optimized Defaults"...
