I am using a linksys SRW2024P switch to connect home automation
components together, basically so they can comunicate.
I am using a Dlink WBR2310 as my router.
The problem I'm having is the components are not talking to one another. If the components are connected via the switch, why would they not be able to talk to each other?

Have you checked to see if the cables are wired correctly? Try to access the internet with a laptop from each wiring end point.

Are all the devices using IP addresses in the same sub-net range? Check the
information in the manual for each component.
