Hard drive dell 4550

hi ive got a dell 4550 and after it loads windows a blue screen arrives and tells me that there is a boot disk sector error and tells me to disble bios memory or software but i cant get into safe mode it starts of ok then sends it back to the blue screen

Use your XP CD to go as first as the first Repair option then when you arrive at a Command Prompt, type chkdsk /r (including the space) and let the five stage process complete. Then back in Command, type fixmbr and hit Enter - accept the warning and what that completes finally, type fixboot and hit Enter. Accept that warning then when it finishes, type exit and restart in the normal way. Don't press "Hit any key to boot from CD" at that stage.
