So i ordered a ASUS M4A78T-E AM3, but i cant seem to find the ram i bought on the mobo's compatibility list. I bought OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227297), but its a 1600, and the mobo seems to only support 1600 if its overclocked in the bios. Since this is my first pc build, i'm worried about setting this up. I dont know how to manually oc it and change it to 1600, and im also not sure how i would set the timings. I want it to be stable, im just not sure how to set this up.

called OCZ and they said it was compatible and that i can just change the voltage, timing, and speeds in the bios. Now im just wondering if anyone has tried this and it O.C it to 1600, 1.9v, and 7-7-7-24 worked well/ was stable

i know that there are many threads like this, but im completely new to this, so i'm just not sure how i would know if my ram is working great. I think it will be obvious if its doing horrible, but im not sure how i could tell if its slightly unstable. I get all my components on friday and i'll finish building it that same day, so i just want to make sure i put the correct timing, speed, and voltage the first time

what programs should i use to find out the stability? i was told memtest would be the best choice. and would i need to use prime 95 or anything to test the stability of the rest of my system if im not overclocking anything but the ram?
