Could I install a AMD Athlon XP 2400+ on a MS-6389 (AMD Keystone) motherboard? I would like to know in advance before I attempt to swap the default CPU, which is an AMD Athlon 1400+. Thanx.

No. I wouldn't try it, unless you already have the cpu. That motherboard is very old, using pc133 sdram. The cpu might run, but at a lower than spec speed. I would look for an nforce2 chipset board if you want to run the 2400, which would require you to use regular ddr ram, either pc2700 or pc3200.
