Prolimatech Armageddon and Crosshair IV

Hi all,
i have to buy a cpu cooler for a 1090T and an Asus Crosshair IV, one of the options is the Armageddon but i'm not sure if this motherboard is compatible with the cooler.
In the Prolimatech's website it's not listed and i don't want to buy it without being sure i can mount it ;)
Does anyone here use this combo?

Thanks
Heimdallr

  1. Prolimatech Megahalems and Armageddon are Intel only.
Go with a Thermalright Venomous X -RT / Venomous X- Black or Noctua.
  2. Prolimatech sells a kit for mounting it on AMD system, anyway Venomous-X is my other option (i don't like Noctua honestly: too ugly and too big :p)

Armageddon or Venomous X you really can't lose either way.
They perform within 1C of each other.
Thermalright Venomous X Black comes with AMD bolt thru kit rev.2

Haven't seen an AMD kit at NCIX or Newegg for Prolimatech
  4. Frostytech.com suggests the Thermaltake Frio is one of the best they've ever tested for AMD.

  5. I've found a few website that sell it in Europe where i live for another 10€.
I was only a bit worried about the ram because i will use all the four ram slots, the ram is mushkin ridgeback and from what i've read from thermalright here i shouldn't have clearance problems with these memory sticks.

Nice choice of ram 40mm shouldn't give you any issues.
The Armageddon has improved base height clearance over the Megahalems.

    cheers! :)
  7. I will be testing the Thermaltake Frio in the next hour see http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/261146-11-cooler-testing-method for the results.
  8. From what I have been able to gather from reading several reviews of Thermaltake Frio, it should have pretty decent cooling but at the cost of being extremely loud, as can be seen on the link to frostytech, showing it to be one of the loudest on the list.
  9. Well, next month (that means in two weeks i hope ;) ) i have to order stuff for my new rig so if Prolimatech will answer me about the Armageddon i will go for it, otherwise i'll get a Ven.X
From what i've seen the difference it's minimal between them so i'd prefer the Armageddon which should be more quiet.

    Thanks for the help.
