Matshita UJ-8400

Hi....for no apparent reason the Matshitta UJ-8400 CD/DVD Driver installed in my Vaio VGN-FS315M laptop has ceased to deliver any DVD sound. No problem with any of the system sounds, games, YouTube, CD etc etc. I've tried everything that Windows XP support suggests, and countless blogs, but I've finally come here for any help available. Hopefully I won't need to search any further.

The DVD driver doesn't control the audio. That's most likely the media player that is playing the DVD. Try using VLC media player.

Many thanks. Your solution has worked! I guess its surplus to need to know why my Windows Media Player failed after so long. Sorry its taken so long to get back to you, but I'm glad I got off the beach today.
