I'd go with a dif. Motherboard... and a different HD... you could safe enough to possibly get a better video card.. Let me build one with a $2500 limit. I just did a build that I feel has a slight edge over the one you have selected for $2,119.60.. There are a few small rebates that will subtract a little from that...

Case: Antec Twelve Hundred $169.99

MOBO: EVGA x58 $299.99

Video: EVGA GTX 285 SSC $409.99

Monitor: Acer P243WAid Black-Silver 24" widescreen $319.99

PSU: Antec TPQ-850watt $199.99

CPU: Intel i7 920 $294.99

DVD: LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner $21.99

HD: Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB $74.99

RAM: G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 $139.99

CPU COOLER: Noctua $84.99

Vista: $99.99

I have had good luck with DFI Motherboards in the past, I have not had good luck with Evga or Asus, thus my choice there. From doing research I have seen more complaints with both of those than I have with DFI, so if you can give me a compelling reason I will switch, for that matter if anyone can give me compelling reasons I will switch out parts.

I will also update prices, these are from Newegg, I know I could do better shopping around, but I am willing to pay a bit more for the convience of getting it all at one place.

I am curious about the reasoning for the harddrive?

The reason I selected the case and monitor is due to the limits of where I can put them.

I've actually had bad luck with DFI but if that's what you want, then you should get it..Same with case//monitor.

I have that HD, and it's amazing for the pice, unless you need 1TB of space, it's the best bang for the buck.

Everything I listed is also from newegg. I just re read your post, sorry about the power supply, you picked a good one. That's the one I have in my build also, I didnt know if you'd prefer modular.

So overall, your build is good..but if you were to switch ONE thing from what I listed, I'd go with the EVGA Video card, it's faster than the BFG for just a little more $$

lol, the case and monitor is size constraints, I live in a small apartment so space is at a premium. The desk I have will just barely fit that monitor same with the case, and lol I can not get a bigger desk without blocking the doorway of the room the desk is in, and the other two walls have windows so can't put a desk there. I wanted the larger 24" asus but can not fit it in the spot after measuring which irks but its better than the 16" CRT that I have currently.

Give the NZXT Tempest case a look.. Its smaller than that antec, should be close to the one you picked. Its $110...I have it and its awesome! I did add cathodes and replaced the LED side fan & the rear fan with solid black, faster fans to move more air but its still a badass case.

Its a pretty case, the NZXT Tempest, but the top ports are unusable, I was about to mention that I have about 20" to play with heigh wise, and that leaves me an inch of room above the case, I have plenty of space in the width and depth dimensions. So yeah nothing on the top of the case, the only other thing I worry about with alot of cases is the depth when you close the panel on the heatsink with as tall as heatsinks have become. As far as Hard drives go, this computer is used for gaming and some basic CAD applications, nothing to fancy.

lol, try looking for a dif. computer desk with the extra money you'll have left over from your $2500 budget, maybe one in the craigslist.. something small that will just hold ur monitor, keyboard and mouse and set your PC on the floor lol.... From the way you described your apt...you sure you arent in prison? hehe ;)

Nah its just I live alone in a little two bedroom apt, and I mean little, the master bedroom has room for a king, the oen I use as my office, well a twin bed would be big in there. And in that room i have my computer desk, drafting board, and as many bookshelves as I could cram in. The rest of the place is well a kitchen/dining area, and a living area... would not call them rooms. so its tiny, but its mine and its relatively cheap lol. Anyway, I doubt I could find another desk that would fit.. and I could put a case ontop of somethign but then I would be afraid one of my idiot friends would knock it over when drunk, so I prefer to keep it someplace relatively safe.
