Hi all

I'm new to your forum and hope i am posting in the right section. Anyway I would like to read off my system components so you can help me to find a possible bottleneck apart from the obvious 8600gt and decide on my next possible upgrade it will be either a CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER X-FI TITANIUM FATALITY PRO or NVIDIA GEFORCE 9800GT 1GB PCIE HDCP DUAL DVI depending on outcome of this thread.

Any here is my system it is quite old

Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66GHZ WOLFDALE - Socket 775, FSB 1333, 6MB CACHE
Kingston HYPERX DDR2 2GB PC2-6400 - DDR2 800MHZ, CL5, DIMM 240-pin
Asus P5KPL-VM - LGA 775, INTEL G31, FSB 1333, DDR2 800, PCIE X16
Seagate BARRACUDA 7200.10 160GB - SATA2, 3.5LP, 8MB, 7200RPM
Asus EN8600GT SILENT/HTDP/512MB - 512 GDDR3, PCI-E 16X

I was also going to buy a 1GB of Kingston HYPERX DDR2 PC2-6400 RAM to bring my ram up to 3GB as everyone knows Windows Vista Ultimate 32 only supports 3GB of RAM. So would I be able to get NVIDIA GEFORCE 9800GT 1GB PCIE HDCP or would that cause a bottleneck, do I have a possible bottleneck NOW apart from my 8600gt. Or should i just get a CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER X-FI TITANIUM FATALITY PRO and don't worry about the video card upgrade.

I do play alot of games like Mirrors Edge, FEAR 2 demo, Devil May Cry 4 and upcoming titles 1st Person Shooters,Street Fighter 4 etc.

Thank you any help is welcome, I must make a decision in 2 days from now as that is when I get either soundcard or graphics card.

First at all, you are posting in wrong section.
And there's no bottleneck in your system even adding 3Gb.

Very high end graphic cards like GTX 295 bottlenecks very easily.
