Has anyone used the Sparkle 9400 with an old Dell with PCI interface? I have not see any review in using with a 1920 x 1200 Wide screen monitor

Welcome to the forums!

The Sparkle 9400 has a PCI-Express interface as far as I know.
The PCI slot will not work.
The Dell power supply probably need to be upgraded too.

What are you basing your reply on? The Sparkle 9400 comes in at least 2 versions, one of which is PCI, not PCI-E. Also, why would you say that the power supply needs to be upgraded, when the PCI version doesn't have a 5v connection. Please support your statements. THANKS for your prompt reply.

Do n`t see why it wo n`t work, the card draws a tiny amount of power and will display to that resoloution.
BUT.
Read the customer reviews on this page before making the decision.

Sorry, was unaware of the PCI version.

If you want to play 3d games at that resolution, I doubt any PCI card could do it, the interface is too limited.

If you just want to use windows, surf the web, etc... any new PCI card will work.

Hi, sorry to be a bit late, I just found this thread. I'm using the slightly earlier Sparkle 8500GT PCI card in a dell dimension 2350. Works fine, though I don't have a monitor capable of the resolution you describe.
I have got a 400 watt PSU as my old dell PSU gave up a few years back.

have some details here
