Help, my XP hangs on STARTUP!

after a crash while scanning with AVG, I had to reinstall W XP Professional. Now pc hangs at the black startup screen. Help

Another person who installed a free antivirus, and crashed their computer...
Are you guys ever going to learn?

You can install the drive on another working computer, and recover your files, maybe.
You re-installed XP pro, how? repair install or reformat and fresh install?

Now, prehaps, when you get you computer going again, are you going to download free junk programs again? Or are you going to use a real professional antivirus?
