Just wondering i need to upgrade my computer and get a better video card and to do this i will need a whole new motherboard but I do not want to upgrade my cpu because of money issues. I was wondering if my current cpu AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ will work with this motherboard- ASUS M4A78 PRO AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard if not can anyone give me ideas on what motherboard to get that will take this cpu and still be able to upgrade to phenom II and still have a pci-e 2.0 slot..
Another thing i have a 550W power supply would i have to upgrade that as well?

Pci-e 2.0 will work fine in pci_e 1,my Asus M2N-E is 1.0 but my 8800GT is 2.0 workz fine,,BUT if you are really HOT to upgrade consider one of the Gigabyte mobo's they will support almost all AMD chips currently available for the 940 pin socket ,,and,,who knows what AMD might come up with ..:)
