Hi all,

I had another post regarding some suspected RAM issues and had a quick question regarding triple channel memory. This post is simply to ask - can I remove 1x of the 3x RAM sticks from my Corsair XMS3 pack and expect the system to work? That is, remove 2Gb of the 6Gb set?

Reason I ask is because when testing my RAM sticks using Memtest86, the Memtest instantly crashes and PC reboots when using only 4Gb.

Is this normal behaviour or likely to be linked to my 'RAM issue'?

The issue I talk of can be read about in the post just a little further down the page if anyone's interested :)

Cheers and have a good day,

Yes, you can remove one stick - The system will simply default to 2 channel operation.

To address your RAM issues - Go into the Bios and manually set the maker's recommended voltages and timings.
