I recently completed my first build. I installed a Cooler master hyper n520. It is advertised as having regular screw and nut mount to hold the back plate but they changed it to screw pins soldered onto the brackets. Now one is stripped and I cant remove the heat sink to add more paste. Idle temps are at 39 / 40 C. Any advise how to remove the bracket without damage to mobo

thanks

Put same sized screw in from bottom off stripped screw and it should eject it.
Or use needle nose on bottom of screw if it's exposed to back it out enough that you can grab it from the top.
You can also try a thick rubber band over the stripped head to remove it.
Dremel tool to create a flathead slot.
Last resort is to drill it out.

Thats for the advise. But its not a regular screw and nut mount the screw is actually part of the bracket. Only the nut is the seperete piece. My temps right now are 38/42 c. Do you think its even necessary to go thru all this.

I'm not a big gamer and don't plan on over clocking a lot. I just want to have a healthy machine. Since its my first build I'm just not sure of the temps. If there OK maybe I should leave well enough alone?

So what your're saying is it's a nut on what really could be called a bolt.
WD 40 and vice-grips.
