What would be the optimal thermal grease/paste/compound for an HDT heatsink? I thought I had everything set with my Hyper TX3 and Arctic MX-2, but then it hit me .. What about copper tarnish?

I haven't assembled a rig in 5 years as I have mostly upgraded parts here and there, so please excuse my noob'ness.

Thank you.

No worries about tarnish etc. Use a quality paste is what matters. make sure you look up the right way for Tpaste on an HDT cooler, it's different. Might even be in the sticky here.

I have been using the Xigmatek HDT s1283 for a couple years and i basically just put 3 thin streaks of Arctic Silver 5 down the copper pipes, set it and stress the CPU for an hour or so and it all settles nicely into the remaining voids... this has always worked for me...

I also have an HDT cooler and have been using MX-2 for quite some time now. I do not recommend AS5 since it takes to long to cure and it can harm your board if you leave any traces, its also outdated and overpriced.

If it has anything to do with Thermaltake, it's a BAD IDEA.
