Hello guys, I am a complete nube when it comes to overlocking and have never done it before. I have done some research and have read up a bit but I still don't know the best way to attempt to overclock my amd 9500 phenom. I have been told to get amd overdrive or do it in the BIOS. Overdrive gives me a an error that says "7 series chipset not found" and I am unsure how to begin to do it in the BIOS. I have an old ECS MCP61PM-GM NVIDIA CHIPSET Motherboard and I am having trouble finding anything about that mobo.

My reason for oc'ing a bit is just trying that last step to push my 2.2ghz stock up a bit for starcraft 2 before I completely replace my mobo / cpu / ram.

Any information and feedback would be greatly appreciated, awaiting a reply.

Ps. if you need me to post any more information let me know, here is my current build if it at all matters:

AMD PHENOM 9500 QUAD CORE 2.2GHZ
VISIONTEK 4850
4096GB DDR2 RAM
650w OCZ POWER SUPPLY
ECS MCP61PM-GM NVIDIA CHIPSET Motherboard
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
300gb HD

I think this maybe a gateway system which most likely has the bios locked so you can't overclock
