heatsink: piece of metal that has contact with a heated surface to disapate heat in an atempt to lower heat levels as to not have said object melt/blow up/cease functioning

 

chipset: a set of Integrated circuits on a motherboard that controlls different functions based of what is needed by the motherboard. EG: southbridge generally controls HDD ports, USB ports, and some PCI/e on ocasion. different chipsets have different features
