Removable storage drives showing up as removeable diskWindows XP

Hi i have an external hard drive but somehow its changed from removeable storgage to removeable disk and so i now can't access my hard drive, can anyone help me get my hard drive back please?

What happened in between ? What's changed ?
Some cheap boards have a low tolerance for putting out power for all USB ports, so I would say test with only that drive on USB other than essential mouse/kb/printer.
Change ports to re-detect the drive correctly.
If this was done by an update, roll back your USB port drivers from device manager.
