As you probably know, the mobo uses the same socket as your planned CPU. So I'm assuming the support's there. You're talking about the Opteron 240 right? When did this processor come out, and what CPU are you using currently?

not the Opteron 240 ,
but the AMD Athlon II ×2 240 , 2.8GHz

Its a new 45nm X2.

It would make sense to contact Gateway about that, not Tom's hardware forum. lol.
