ok guys i know that this is a rather out dated question but ive searched the web over and havent found an answer to this. i have a foxconn 590sli which is pci-e x16 and i want to buy a 9800gtx+ which is pci-e 2.0. will it work on my current motherboard. and is a my motherboard pci-e 1 or 1.1. please dont give sugestions like getting a new motherboard because im sticking with this one thank you.

It will work wit ur mobo...no problem...but as it is a PCI-e 2.0 and fitted on a PCI-e1.1, it will be a little slower (well not much of a difference though)

Same as inserting a USB 2.0 device in a USB 1.1

as long as the it is running at PCI-E 1.1 x16 speed you will be fine.
