Hi, i'm considering an upgrae from abit ip35p to xfx geforce 9300 mobo? Is it a decent upgrade? Or can i get some better mobo for same price range? I'm upgrading mainly because it has pci-e 2, which i need for my gtx 260. really confused about this...
Hello and welcome to the forums mate I would keep the ABIT IP35 its a good board and u can use GTX 260 on it because PCI-E 2.0 is backward compatible with PCI-E 1.0.
i know it is, but i've getting problems like games suddenly freezing for a while; colors changing n freezing again, and the like. This usually happens after starting some games for second time without shutting down or anything, and if i run for long time. I tried to change the card under warranty, but these problems dont show up on their boards. So i thought maybe it has sth to do wit the pci-e 1 or pci-e 2

Yeah, Hybrid power usually doesn't work to well, but anyway your P35 board is fine. There is really no reason to move to a newer board. The performance you would gain with your 260 by moving from PCI-E 1.0/1.1 to PCI-E 2.0 is pretty small and not worth the cost of a new motherboard.

@Maziar: i think i got the blue screen once or twice maybe two months back, and i have nvidia's 185.85 installed, if thats what you meant by VGA driver (i'm a total noob....) Does it mean i have a defective 260?
@megaman: Well i would simply set the 9300 for physx, and are you sure it wouldnt be a good idea to upgrade mobo? i talked wit the salesman today, and he said the xfx board has newer technology, and will give much better performance with my C2duo.....
