I am thinking of upgrading my ram. I am running Corsair XMS5400C4 and am thinking of upgrading to Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4

The Corsair XMS5400C4 runs at 667 and the TWIN2X2048-6400C4 runs at 800. Is it worth the upgrade? It is about $35 for 2 gigs. I am running XP SP3 Media Center Edition.

Check my configuration for my build.

if you mix memory types all installed memory will run at the lowest speed and cas they all have in common. So either buy the same type or swap all of it.

I had not planned on mixing them. I was just going to replace them with 2 or 4 gigs. From what I know, my motherboard with only use 3.25 gigs fo ram.
1. Should I replace them.
2. will 4 gigs make that much of a difference in Windows XP?

it's your os that limits the ram to under 4. Your mb may or may not have it's own limits in even increments 2 4 6 12....

1. depends on what the mb supports
2 depends on what you use comp for

I am running XP now but I will be running Windows 7 soon. I think XP limits the amount of ram. I have to check and see what the mobo can handle.

all 32 bit os's limit the memory to 4gig, some of that is allocated to other uses though, my comp shows 3.5

To have more than 4gig you have to go 64 bit

Going from 667 to 800 is not worth it in my opinion, unless you have the money to burn....If you can change the timings for your ram (Bios), then get 2 more gigs of the EXACT same ram that you have right now and overclock a tad. You should be able to get it in-between 700-800Mhz. If you go 64 bit then you will need at least 6 gigs of 800MHZ.
