Noise is one of those things that varies among individuals. One person's idea of a quiet pc can be another person's jumbo jet. A lot depends on the case fans, cpu fan(s), and video card fan.
I have the CoolerMaster HAF 932 which is huge! The case is wider than normal too. Very easy to work inside the case. The new CoolerMaster Storm Sniper is another huge case. Both have very large fans operating at lower rpm to help keep the noise down.
That's a good looking case to (CoolerMaster 690). I knew the minute my Armor arrived I would never go back to a mid-tower. The only problem with the full tower is moving it from one place to another.
Does anyone know if the P183 is worth the extra $40 over the P182? I know routing cables around a fan in the bottom compartment has been talked about. The P183 moves the fan to the front of the case, where it should have been. I plan on getting one of these with a Corsair 650TX which I know has A LOT of cables.
I have the original Antec P180, which in my experience has been absolutely superb, barely a whisper from it with three tricool fans going.
The only two slight issues are the length of the ATX power cable (make sure you get a long enough one). And routing cables past the fan in the lower compartment to the HDD caddy - I sorted this out with a junior hacksaw and a dremel to knock out a couple of corners on the fan mounting frame - which sounds drastic but actually is a very minor thing which im amazed antec hadnt considered.
My config is an intel 975xbx, C2D E6600, 2x XFX 7950GT passive and 2x250GB Spinpoint and 2x1tb Spinpoints, samsung dvd + samsung dvd-rw. Antec NeoPower HE 550 4gb corsair XMS2 C4
Its been on constantly for about three years now, vistually no dust build up on the inside and still quiet.
