This was my first time OC and initially I attempted doing it in the bios by setting the frequency to 145, less than 10% and the system crashed on boot. I reset stock setting and just flipped the switch on the motherboard automatically increasing the cpu 10% to 3.2 ghz. Speed fan tells me i'm idling at 34c, bios says idle is 48c. I obviously can't check my temps in bios while under load, but speedfan is saying it's running at 70c. I don't know much about overclocking but I know this is way too hot. For now I have the overclock turned off but I've heard of people overclocking to 3.5 and higher with the stock cooler no problem so why might I be running such high temps?

I'd recommend downloading realtemp and seeing if the temps are different. I have a 530 and with the stock cooler I had it at 3.8ghz with a vcore of around 1.3 (can't remember exactly) and it topped out at 63C in Prime95. Speedfan doesn't report my temps correctly. It used to but now it doesn't, I don't know why. What is your vcore set at?

^ +1 for Real Temp.

Otherwise just try reseating the heat sink. Stock heat sinks, especially if it uses push-pins, can have issues with not sitting properly or not having enough force.

As for overclocking, I'd take those voltages off auto. If it crashes at 145 base clock you'll have to add some vcore, and maybe a bit of VTT/IMC
