Cpu and video card upgrade any good?

hi im wanting to upgrade my cpu and video card:

(current system)
Mobo: M55sli-s4
cpu: Amd 64 x2 3800+ @ 2.2ghz
video: geforce 8800gt

(wanted new system)
cpu: amd 64 x2 6000+ @ 3ghz
video: geforce 260 gtx

cpu is $140 nzd
vid card is $340 nzd

is these two upgrades worth while??
all i want to run is Gta4 so its playable.

Going SLI with the 8800GT would do the job as well, but yes the GTX 260 is better.
I did notice a big preformance impact upgrading from the X2 4200+ to the X2 6000+
So I guess your upgrade is alright.
GTA iV is playable on my rig.. not @ highest but high / medium

try overclocking the cpu wait till you can get a phenom2 try the video card first

cheers for the replys. i guess ill start with the vid card upgrade as with the cpu it doesn't look like the m55sli-s4 is going to support phenoms anytime soon if not at all as i cant run a Amd X2 7750BE which is basicly a phenom... so might have to ditch the mobo...

oh and yep, its a Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4...
