Streaming audio & video software?

Any suggestions to streaming audio & video files from my home computer to the interent and within the my home? Looking for software so I dont have to have a NAS box again. Had the Mivixbox and it sucked...Drobo looks great but I have a great windows system just sitting.

I use Serviio (Freeware) to stream video, music, and pictures to the DLNA devices in my apartment.

I don't have cable or a dvd/BD player just an ethernet cable plugged into my TV.
