Hey All,

I just bought an I-INC 19" Widescreen LCD, my motherboard only has PCI ans ISA slots, and I'm running 2000 but can move to XP (if needed).

My question is what PCI video card should I get to support 1440X900 WUXGA. I don't need anything real fast (no gaming). I just want to use my monitor's wide screen capability for the least cost.

Thanks+

Might as well get a DX10 for your PCI slot in case you want to upgrade to Windows Vista or Windows 7 later this year.

If you plan on using it for HD playback, read the Newegg reviews first, there seem to be issues with certain players.

For basic internet browsing and email you could go for either a Geforce 5200 or a Radeon 2400HD, either one will serve your purposes in your situation. But be aware you will NOT be able to do any gaming on that computer.

Runs space invaders at 1920x1200? =D

No, that(Space invaders) would simply choke the crap out of it. I can however get wordpad up to 1920 x 1200.

In all honestly it will do MCE at 1920 x 1200(SD video is all I have, there was a extra video bit on that card vs the Geforce4ti's so it takes a good 20 watts less and all i use it for is surfing the net and recording tv). Oddly enough i have to start MCE in a window, start tv then max it, from then on it works, and honestly works better then i would have guessed. sadly for only ~30 watts more, i can get a 9800pro in there and blow it away, but for MCE/webstuff it works well.
