Iomega when clicking to open nothing happens?

I have had the Iomega mini max external hard drive for a while and when I plugged it in today it shows up on Macbook Pro's screen, but when clicking to open it won't open it just makes everything disappear on screen for nano second and then everything appears again, but the actual drive does not open? PLEASE HELP

Try it on another system, if the problem persists, remove the HDD from the enclosure and try it via another enclosure or (SATA to USB) adapter. You can alternatively install it directly into a desktop pc and check it. If none of these works then the HDD is dead.
