I'd like to build a compact PC with a mini-ITX motherboard and with enough space to have a regular size PCI card laid down at a 90° angle with a riser.
I like the type of cases used by IBM for their retired Netvista 2800, or those sold by Soekris with their motherboard.
Does someone know where I can find this type of case in Europe preferably under 50€ shipping included?
Hmmm... sorry, but would you mind listing good component online retailers in europe? Maybe we can look through both together. I only know of the ones listed here: http://www.grokdotcom.com/2008/02/ [...] retailers/
Alternatively, would it be a crazy idea to find some flexible ribbon to stick a PCI card underneath the mobo so as to get a thin, compact box while still leaving enough room for the CPU fan?
Exactly Thanks much for the tip. I'll read up on flexible PCI risers to check that there aren't limitations, especially with the telephony card I intend to use.
Interesting... why don't you try fashioning a clear case out of something transparent? I honestly have no experience with building, but hopefully this bump will catch someone's attention
