why i can't hide my drives using both gpedit and tweakui?

im looking for a way to hide my drives in my pc so other people can't modify any contents of it, someone suggested tweakui from microsoft but it doesnt work,tried gpedit but does the same,i spent 2 nights trying to put my pc together after my 8 yo son accidentally deleted some files.i already tried tweakui on other computer and it works but not on my pc.installed it did tick off the drives i want to hide but when i go to my computer my drives still appears,same when i use gpedit...thanks
