Yes you will notice a difference if you are using more than 2X AA and you are loading high res textures in games at that resolution.

The HD4850 x 2 1GB is only 512MB per GPU so that is how much you can use for gaming.

I have the hd4850 x2 1GB and is awesome at gaming, frames are just over the roof, but when you play on resolutions 1900x1080 and higher and you are maxing out the game setting and AA, than you will start seeing some lower FPS.

If you can afford it I would suggest you to go for the hd4850 x2 2GB or two 4870 x1GB in Crossfire

Make sure you have appropriate cooling(air flow) in your case cause this little piggy produces heat when it starts running all those pixels through the GPUs :)

Other than that I cant complain from the card, cat 9.2 drivers are a lower on performance than the cat 9.1, but ATI promised to have that issue fixed in couple of weeks with the cat 9.3

I am returning my HD4850 x2 1GB and getting the HD4870 1GB, I am a bit short on cash so I'll wait until the hd4870 1GB drops in price before I get a second card and crossfire it.

Cheers
