Hey TH Community,

I'm in search of a relatively cheap ($20-$30 range) heatsink/cooler for overclocking my AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE CPU...
I've found this one, I particularly like:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065

I'm using the X-Blaster Ultra ATX Mid-Tower case:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=2337810&sku=ULT33178
Which measures depth = 19.5 inches X width = 7.5" X height = 17"

I like it,...but how good is it??
Does anyone know the performance of this HSF?
If this one isn't as good as I think it is...what heatsink you would suggest for this CPU?

thanks,
majinn

Yes thats an excellent HSF, good work at finding it.

That case is obviously not high-end or anything but if it has adequite fans it will not hinder your ability. It didn't seem to say how many fans; though if it doesn't have many you could always add some more if its got spots.

That is the cooler I would have recommended for you. Great work!

The 212+ is a great HSF. I have one installed on one of my systems (965BE based) and it is efficient (PWM fan), effective (low temps across the board), and inexpensive (you have seen the costs).

In fact, if you considered the number of 212+ "clones" that vendors now offer as a testament of the design, then the 212+ is an immensely awesome product.

Lol...well Newegg is paying attention to demands..and jacked their prices on this cooler to $49.99.
Anyways..the price on amazon is still the same. But I wanted to ask: does it come with thermal paste? I'm curious because there are people on amazon who brought thermal paste along with this cooler.
