Well I have a motherboard from Asus, I bought a year ago... and since February I am waiting for a Bios update for my board, because I wanna buy the new phenom II cpu....but at the ''asus support site'' says my board doesn't suppot the new cpu I want(phenom II 905e).well but another motrboard with the same chipset does and I want know if there is any risk if i install the other motherboard bios on mine...
my motherboard is: asus m3a78-emh-hdmi (bios 1107)
motherboard in which supports the processor I want: asus m3a78-em
umm...... first of all why the 905e? For that money you can get a faster quad...
IMO the 905e = fail , specially when it is a 2.5Ghz quad for 200.00$$
Get an x4 940 @ 3.0Ghz and save yourself some cash....and headaches
This is nothing but a low-power server chip....
And yes there is a risk, you cant just flash the bios from another mobo and expect it to work. If your 1 year old mobo is AM2/AM2+ and not AM3 compatible (at the moment) then forget about the 905e unless you are looking at a new mobo....
If i were you id stay away from ANYTHING that has an "e" at the end........
