Hi,

My hard dick crashed and had to get a new one. They saved all the files but can't find my applications. Is there a program that will search for the applications and make me a new shortcut?

Thanks

Sounds like you need to re-install the programs. Generally what happens when you have a technician to help recover your data, that is all they will do. The data is recovered from the old hard drive and saved onto one of the partitions of the new hard drive.

The operating is re-installed, but none of the applications. You will have to reinstall the application because the technician can't do that. You own whatever apps were installed on the old hard drive, not the technician. Of course there are freeware applications available on the web that anyone can install.

Did you specifically request the technician to install any particular app?

i would do that but i don't have the CD's to re-install. I was hoping there was a program that would look for the applications and and build a new path for them
