hope i get a card that don't give me a headache.
I got all my order except for graphic card i don't know which one of these video card i should get and if i were to chose the GTX 285 what brand should i get Asus,BFG,EVGA etc..... the 4850 X 2 only come with one brand which is Sapphire.
Currently in possesion.
Quantity 1 -Sceptre 26" HD tv with HDMI 1080p to be the monitor(VGA) Supported
Quantity 1 -Window Ultima 64 bits (will upgrade to Window 7 when it release)
Quantity 1 -Sony Optiarc 2x Blu-Ray DVD-ROM SATA Drive
This system will prolly be for rendering project that i am planning to get done and some engineering program like auto cad etc... of course i want this system be able to play video game on it also.. i got bad review on the GTX 285 for crysis its getting less then 60 fps that everyone was speaking of. about 30 fsp for GTX 285 on crysis
i read some review about these ram the XMP ready series work very well with my Mother board(ASUS P6T Deluxe LGA 1366) right out of the box but the Flex EX series not much review. perhaps only one at the time i was reading the review... the review about Flex EX is that they are thick and i won't be able to put 6 stick of ram only 3 due to the size of it, is that true?
yes iam planning to get all 12GB ram.but for now only 6GB ram
sorry for veering off subject but i really want to get my purchase done by this 03/13/2009.
thank you very much for your help. seriously very much appreciated.
Since you are getting Vista 64 get as much ram as you can for what you are wanting to do, it will be worth it. I am not sure if a dual GPU card will help with rendering, as most software is not set for that. If the software uses a multi GPU, then get the 4870x2. If not save some cash and get the GTX 285. I went from 3GB ram to 8GB and doing video editing and such is must faster.
Chose the GTX260 because they scale well with the core i7s...so for nw get 2 of them and later add another for triple-Sli...sure they are better than 2 285 in SLI...for the same cost...
If you read this article, nvidia has serious driver issues that dont allow i7 and GTX cards to run at their full potential, those driver issues have not been fixed as of yet. Therefore I'd recommend the 4850x2. These driver issues (so they say) are the reason the Phenom 2 walked all over the i7 in the gaming benchmarks.
Right now with current prices you're getting the best bang for your buck with the 4850x2 1 GIG model but if you're looking at the 2 gig model I suggest either a 4870 or GTX 260 by themselves or in SLI/Crossfire.

yes i am planning to get the 4850 X2 two gig or a GTX 285. is a 4870 or GTX 260 better then 4850x2>? if i were plan to go crossifire i prolly would get 2 piece of 4850 X2 with four Gig total or Sli GTX 285
