Hi, I have a nagging freeze problem with my PC. Thought I kicked it by changing RAM modules (from 4 x 1GB 800Mhz modules to 2 x 2GB 1066Mhz) and OS (from Vista 64-bit to XP SP3) but the problem I had before is back. I have a recurring error message occasionally when I boot up the system which states that BIOS is not compatible with CPU? Can anyone kindly refer me to a technician who can fix up my BIOS? My system:
Intel Q9300
MSI P5 Platinum
2 x 2GB PC-850 1066Mhz sticks
9800GX2
500GB HD
Blu-ray drive
DVD writer
Antec 900 (complete fans)
Antec 850W PS
I'm seriously considering jumping to an AMD platform if I can't fix this problem. Help please...

You don't need to fix the BIOS, you need to update it. Go to the manufacturer's website, check out the support page, and read how to do a flash. It's a fairly common thing to do, especially to add CPU support.

update the bios, just read and follow the directions carefully. a bad flash will ruin the board
