Ok guys. So I finally have the money and the go ahead for a new computer. So after choosing parts and researching for like, 2 months. Here is my build. TWO-POINT-O

BTW: I do some gaming (D3 when it comes out, some RTS and like TF2/L4D) I don't really care about the graphics being on high and I use 1280x1024.

I use newegg.ca

Budget (800$) Which is what I have.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core black edition Processor - Retail
CPU 90$

ASUS M3A78 Pro AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
MOBO 120$

SAPPHIRE 100265L Radeon HD 4830 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail
GPU 120$ (OCed to around a 4850)

Antec Sonata III 500 Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply - Retail
PSU/CASE 120$

G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 900(PC2 7200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
RAM 70$

Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
HD 100$

LG Black 22X
OPTICAL 30$

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - Retail
HSF 25$

Antec 761345-75121-6 120mm Case Fan - Retail
FAN 15$

That equals 680*1.13(tax) = 770 + 30$ shipping.

So basically, the PSU/CASE combo is a 500W EarthWatts. Good PSU.

Also, I didn't get the similar priced Intel Dual core (dual-pentium) because it doesn't have VT and it would be an extra 70$ for a good HSF and Mobo. (I use VMs in linux)

So yeah. Looks good? Any suggestions?

Build looks good.

I'd recommend buying from ncix.com--no PST unless you're in BC, plus they'll price match. Use pricecanada.com or shopbot.ca to find the lowest prices.

Ok will do. I didn't know ncix.com didn't charge PST.

I was thinking about getting the 2.5GHz dual core pentium because it can OC to like 4GHz. Anyone wanna suggest a good cooler (cheap :p) that will allow me to get around 4GHz or even like 3.6GHz.

Also, anyone have a good mobo suggestion for around that price?

I was wondering since the dual core pentium doesn't have VT. What kind of difference will I see in my VMs.

Nice build. I'm assuming a 790G board is not available within the budget. And yes, that is a nice case / PSU combo.
However...
When I got a Sonata III for my wife's build, it included a little note from Antec indicating a "possible" problem with the rear tricool fan, and they included another one, just in case. It turned out there was no problem with the original fan, so I ended up with a nice 120mm fan free. The same may happen to you, so you may not need to buy another one. I'm assuming you intend to overclock, else there's no need for the aftermarket CPU cooler (or the second fan). That being the case, if the extra $15 lets you squeeze in a 790G board, it has the ACC feature which improves overclocking.

Oh ok. I am not really good with the AMD chipset names. (Intel is so much easier!)

I'll do that then. Thanks :D

EDIT: Got a recommendation?

Also,
If I get an Intel chip with a FSB of 800 (the 2.5GHz dual core pentium) do I need a mobo with 800 FSB or will I mobo with 1333/1066 work?
